Job Description: Lead / Senior Engineer – Offshore Pipeline Engineer Department: Offshore Engineering Location: Mumbai Position: Lead / Senior Engineer – Offshore Pipeline Experience Required: Minimum 13+ Years •Qualification: Engineering Degree (Mechanical / Marine / Civil / Structural) or equivalent •Mandatory: Offshore Rigid Pipeline design experience Role Purpose To lead and execute Offshore Rigid Pipeline engineering activities across Concept, FEED, and Detailed Engineering. The engineer must deliver hands-on technical work, lead a team, and ensure compliance with DNV standards. Key Responsibilities 1. Technical (Hands-On Engineering) • Perform and review all Offshore Rigid Pipeline engineering tasks as per DNV-OS-F101 • Prepare Basis of Design, design calculations, and engineering documents • Route selection & optimization studies • Wall thickness design, expansion analysis, on-bottom stability (DNV-RP-F109 using StableLines) • Free-span analysis (DNV-RP-F105 using FatFree) • Cathodic protection design (DNV-RP-F103) • Pipeline crossing design using CAESAR II • Seabed interaction & roughness analysis (SAGE Profile / ABAQUS) • Riser flexibility, VIV & fatigue analysis • Installation engineering using OffPipe / OrcaFlex • UHB & lateral buckling analysis (ABAQUS FEM preferred) • Prepare technical reports, calculation files & summaries 2. Team Leadership & Coordination • Lead and mentor pipeline engineers & designers • Assign tasks and ensure quality checks of deliverables • Support engineering manager in resource planning 3. Project & Client Interaction • Attend technical meetings • Resolve pipeline design issues • Coordinate with structural, geotech, installation, materials & other disciplines • Ensure project schedule and quality compliance 4. Drawings & Documentation (Review & Approval) • Pipeline route & field layout drawings • Alignment sheets • Platform approach drawings • Riser / J-Tube GA drawings • Pipeline crossing drawings • Anode layout drawings 5. Quality & Safety • Ensure QA/QC compliance • Maintain high safety standards for offshore design Essential Requirements • Minimum 15 years of Offshore Rigid Pipeline experience • Strong knowledge of DNV, API, ASME, BS standards • FEED & Detailed Engineering experience • Ability to lead teams & perform hands-on engineering • Excellent communication & analytical skills Software Proficiency (Mandatory) DNV StableLines DNV FatFree CAESAR II SAGE Profile OffPipe / OrcaFlex ABAQUS (FEM) Mathcad, MS Office
