Position Summary:

The Buyer Analyst is responsible for analysing purchasing data, developing procurement strategies, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and components necessary for the production of transformers. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers, internal departments, and the procurement team to optimize costs, quality, and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Analysis:

  • Analyze purchasing trends, market conditions, and supplier performance.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on procurement activities, costs, and supplier evaluations.

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to meet the company's requirements.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery times.

Supplier Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable outcomes for the company.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with company standards and expectations.

Inventory Management:

  • Work closely with the inventory management team to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Implement inventory control measures to avoid shortages and excess stock.

Cost Control:

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to reduce procurement costs.
  • Track and report cost variances and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, quality assurance, and other departments to align procurement activities with production schedules and company objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand and meet their material and component requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 to 9 years of experience in a procurement or buyer analyst role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with transformer manufacturing or electrical components is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
