Job Purpose
As a Junior Java Developer , you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality Java-based applications for FCM India. Working with a team of developers, product managers, and designers, you will contribute to the development of scalable and secure software solutions that meet business needs. You will collaborate with senior developers to ensure your code meets industry standards and best practices while gaining exposure to a wide variety of tools, frameworks, and technologies. Core Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Java applications in alignment with business requirements.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Java, following coding standards and best practices.
Perform unit testing and debug application issues to ensure quality and stability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and senior developers, to deliver robust solutions.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues, identifying root causes and applying fixes.
Follow agile development practices and contribute to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Contribute to code reviews, ensuring code quality and consistency across the development team.
Continuously improve coding skills and stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in Java development.

Technical Competencies
Languages: Java, JavaScript, SQL
Frameworks & Libraries: Spring Boot, Hibernate, JSP, Servlet, REST APIs, Microservices
Databases: MySQL, MS-SQL, NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra)
Build Tools: Maven, Gradle
Version Control: Git, Bitbucket, SVN
Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with Azure or AWS, Jenkins (CI/CD)
Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX
Application Server: Apache Tomcat
Security: Basic knowledge of application security, JWT, OAuth2.0
API Integration: Exposure to REST APIs and working knowledge of API documentation
Containerization: Knowledge of Docker is a plus
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of professional experience in Java development.
Hands-on experience with frameworks like Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs.
Experience with front-end technologies like JavaScript and frameworks like React is a plus.
Understanding of databases (MySQL, NoSQL) and related query languages.
Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or similar is preferred.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with modern web technologies and frameworks.
Understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns.
Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
Familiarity with unit testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito.
Experience in deploying applications on cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
Knowledge of software development security best practices.
