In this new role of Chemical Buyer you will work closely with our supply chain, sales and technical teams and procure trade carbon in the Asia market to further drive Norit business advancement globally.


Your responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with line manager on purchase activities, quality control and new product developments for trade carbon.
  • Procure trade carbon from various sources. Set up and manage bid requests per defined standards. Perform related purchasing activities, such as order processing, COA & packaging checking, etc.
  • Use various methods and tools to minimize cost and administrative time.
  • Create and maintain supplier profiles.
  • Foster and maintain positive business relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Work with transportation and quality managers to ensure on-time delivery and in-spec quality of trade carbon.
  • Resolve commercial disputes and coordinate quality claims through line manager.
  • Work with line manager to track and update project status with suppliers and cross functional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Purchasing Ethics, (US) Sabarnes-Oxley legislation, ISO and corporate standards, Values, audit rules, laws, etc.


To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5-10 years’ work experience in chemical procurement or chemical buyer role (experience in international environment is a plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree with technical background is preferred: chemical or application related.
  • Good understanding of procurement process and procedures.
  • Willing to travel across Asia market (mainly within India and occasionally SEA countries per request) and engage in practical work (e.g. sample collecting).
  • Able to collect first-hand data by participating in field investigations and regular cross-check with peers and insiders.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP system.
  • Work meticulously with a focus on results and have can-do attitude and ability to work in the team.
