The group, under Vehicle Engineering within Group Trucks Technologies, has the responsibility to support virtual verification & validation, Virtual method development using advanced calculations tools for the entire chassis groups for trucks across brands within Volvo group, in the areas of component and System Durability, Flow Analysis - Computational fluid dynamics (CFD), NVH and Complete vehicle modelling (CVM) etc.The scope covers major components such as Frames, cross members, Front nodes, Powertrain mountings, Cab suspension & mountings, chassis Equipment and various systems such as exhaust system, fuel system and other chassis installations, brake system and vehicle control, powertrain installation areas as well as steering axles and suspension components, super structure connections etc.The team as a part of Chassis and Vehicle Dynamics (CVDE) BLR department, closely works with other CVDE sites of Gothenburg, Lyon, Greensboro, Curitiba and Australia along with other alliance and JV partners, other business units delivering virtual validation of design, development work under its scope.Job Description

As manager of the Advanced Calculations, you will lead the activities such as:Prepare strategies and roadmaps for Simulation activities, Method development and Talent development.Review the CAE reports and provide project direction.Plan software licenses and hardware requirements of the team.Drive innovation related to Advanced engineering, Patent, Cost improvement and method development.Part of the CVDE leadership team to drive vehicle engineering and department strategies.Management

In this position you will be leading large team of 25+ members dedicated to engineering, delivering according to our customers great expectations as well as creating a great place to grow for our employees.You are responsible of training, education, and overall development of your personnel to meet both current and future competence requirements.You manage workload, define roles within the team, define individual and team targets and set salaries.Recruit and develop effective teams where people take pride in being responsible for their complete deliveries, as well as coach and mentor to build future leaders from the team.You shall ensure the highest levels of quality is delivered by the team meeting end to end requirements of the product.You shall work & direct the teams with customer centric mindset and shall support in driving analysis leadership within the team from conceptualization till maintenance of the systems and components designed including the filed failures & end customer complaints as well as market adaptation, legal requirements and cost improvement areas.You drive operational excellence and constantly improve your way of working bringing efficiency in the deliveries. Also support the core groups to maintain Common Architecture and Share Technologies (CAST) in common components.You establish, maintain and control group budget to meet yearly set targets.You are a bridge for effective communication, assuring top-down and bottom-up distribution of information.You work closely with other departments exhibiting horizontal leadership along with other engineering teams in Group Trucks Technology, Group Trucks Operations, Purchasing and sales organization to align towards XFT requirements.You shall interface and participate in PI planning with other sites and ensure commitments towards deliveries by the team.
