Solar Program Manager

The Program Manager will oversee the execution, planning, and delivery of large-scale solar power projects. This includes managing the project lifecycle, from conception through to final completion, ensuring project timelines are met and quality standards maintained. This role requires experience in the US markets, with a strong understanding of utility-scale solar power development, engineering, and construction management.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Scheduling:

  • Prepare detailed project schedules and plans using MS Project.
  • Manage project milestones, resource deployment, and time management to ensure timely completion.

Project Execution:

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of utility-scale solar power projects, including site inspection, commissioning, and handover to the client.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, finance, and procurement to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on pre-sales visits, preparing drawings, and budgeting for solar projects.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct town, county, and state permitting research to evaluate project viability and manage regulatory compliance.

Risk Management & Reporting:

  • Evaluate potential risks and create mitigation plans to address project challenges.
  • Provide regular updates to top management on project status, risks, and compliance.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols are implemented on all project sites.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

  • Develop project budgets and manage cash flows to ensure projects remain financially viable.
  • Monitor and control project expenditures to stay within the approved budget.

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead the implementation and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring operational efficiency and quality standards.
  • Manage all aspects of the engineering process, including construction, mechanical, and electrical work for solar projects.
  • Resolve technical queries and recommend solutions for site issues.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of project results, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and quality standards.
  • Compile due diligence reports and action plans for executive teams.


Qualifications:

  • B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
  • Certifications in AutoCAD, PRO-E, or MS Project are a plus.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience managing EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) solar projects.
  • Proficient in project management software (MS Project) and well-versed in industry standards.


Core Competencies:

  • Expertise in Electrical, Civil & Mechanical Engineering for solar projects.
  • HSE Management, Quality Compliance, and Risk Mitigation.


Experience:

  • Proven track record in delivering solar power projects of varying scales, including rooftop PV systems and utility-scale ground-mounted solar farms.
  • Extensive experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government bodies for permits, licenses, and statutory approvals.
