KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education and Experience:

Degree in Banking / Finance/Mathematics/Statistics and/or Economics from a recognized university, pref. with MBA (Finance) /CA or equivalent


Exp: 10 years of related experience of which a minimum 5 years in risk management and leading positions in Banking/NBFC or a Financial Institution.


Location: Chennai.


Experience in dealing with various microfinance products with good knowledge in analytical skills and Strong computer application skills particularly with M.S. Excel.


Knowledge & Skills and Abilities:

Risk Management

Good analytical skills, including an understanding of key financial components (liquidity position, leverage profile) with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate horizon issues

Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English

Demonstrates knowledge of financial statements and GAAP accounting or similar governance relating to country.

Excellent knowledge in industry research capabilities, including risk and key drivers

Stakeholder management experience is needed

Quantitative orientation and a good eye for detail as well as ability to see the big picture

Curiosity to find out root causes and ability to ask questions to gain insight

Ability to write, present and train others on risk and compliance related materials

Ability to manage dynamic priorities and work well under pressure


A team player with an enabling style and ability to build relationships across different departments and branches, and to influence positive changes in working practices

Provides deep technical expertise on Credit portfolio performance, volatility of market prices, operational failures, infrastructure outages, liquidity shortages, and regulatory and legal matters that have an impact on the MFI’s capital and reputation.
