Job Description:
Designation: Deputy General Manager/ Senior Manager
Location: Mumbai
Educational Qualification: LLB/LLM
Experience: 10-12 years PQE
Other Qualifications-
· Minimum 10 years of PQE should be in the media and entertainment industry, preferably in broadcasting.
· Strong legal acumen and knowledge of Intellectual Property Laws, contract law, corporate laws, content regulation laws, technology laws including IT Act and Data Privacy laws
· Experience in handling IP related contracts, negotiations and disputes
· Experience in handling content acquisition, Advertising sales, Branded content, Television channel distribution and syndication, digital platforms and service provider agreements
· Experience in managing teams and working independently
· Good communication skills, adaptability and leadership qualities
Job Profile- This is a senior role involving following responsibilities,
1. Drafting, vetting, negotiating all kinds of legal contracts relating to international distribution and syndication of television channels, digital platforms, content acquisition,etc
2. Handling litigation and ADR matters - drafting notices, notice replies, plaints, affidavits, etc., briefing counsels, strategizing for mitigating liability
3.Handling music acquisition and all matters related to music distribution
4.Handling all branded content and advertising sales related agreements and disputes
5.Handling IP related agreements and disputes
6. Managing and supervising the functions of legal team and liaising with and coordinating with the internal business teams
7. Providing expert legal advice to various internal content and business teams and assisting senior management in legal issues
