ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and have a proactive approach to database management.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management : Install, configure, and manage MS SQL Server databases, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security.

Performance Tuning : Monitor and optimize database performance and capacity planning. Perform troubleshooting and optimization of SQL queries and indexes.

Security : Implement and maintain database security (e.g., creating and managing roles and permissions).

Backup and Recovery : Develop, implement, and regularly test backup and recovery procedures.

Maintenance : Plan and implement database patching and upgrades to ensure systems remain current and secure.

Monitoring : Set up and maintain monitoring tools to ensure databases are running efficiently and to detect potential issues.

Replication and High Availability : Manage database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.

Data Integration : Support data integration efforts and ETL processes to ensure data consistency across systems.

Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all database-related activities, configurations, and processes.

Support and Collaboration : Work closely with development teams to provide support and guidance on database design, coding standards, and troubleshooting.

Compliance : Ensure databases adhere to all relevant compliance requirements and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications:

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience as a DBA with a focus on MS SQL Server.

Technical Skills :

Proficiency in MS SQL Server versions , , , , , and/or newer.

Strong understanding of SQL and T-SQL programming.

Experience with database performance tuning and optimization (PTO).

Familiarity with high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for MS SQL Server.

Knowledge of SQL Server integration services (SSIS), SQL Server reporting services (SSRS), and SQL Server analysis services (SSAS).

Proficient in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

Soft Skills :

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
