Engineer – Battery R&D and Design

Experience Required: 2–5 years (preferably in Lithium-Ion battery systems) Employment Type: Full-time About the Role: We are looking for a highly motivated Battery R&D and Design Engineer to join our growing product development team. The ideal candidate will contribute to designing, prototyping, and validating next-generation lithium-ion battery modules and packs, focusing on performance optimization, safety, thermal management, and manufacturability. Key Responsibilities: Design mechanical structures for lithium-ion battery modules and packs, including enclosures, cooling systems, interconnects, and mounting fixtures. Use CAD tools (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation. Collaborate with electrical and thermal engineers to integrate mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems effectively. Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis, FEA simulations, and thermal analysis in coordination with internal teams or vendors. Perform DFMEA and participate in design reviews for continuous improvement. Select materials, fasteners, insulation, and other components considering weight, strength, safety, and cost. Work closely with prototyping and manufacturing teams to bring designs into production. Support testing and validation of battery systems under various mechanical and environmental conditions. Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (such as IEC 62619, UN38.3) and safety requirements. Create and maintain BOMs, engineering change documentation, and assembly guidelines. Qualifications: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (M.E./M.Tech is a plus).
