Responsibilities
Data architecture. Design and implement new features and changes of the current data models.
Participate in architecture and design to ensure that our systems are scalable, reliable, robust, and secure.
Build, maintain and continuously improve data related part of the products.
Designing and code reviewing for other engineers contributing to a culture of skills share and continuous growth.
Identify and troubleshoot production issues and provide quick, robust and reliable resolution.
Collaborate with other teams to ensure that our systems are designed and built for reliability, scalability and maintainability. We build it, we own it.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement of our system being active part in monitoring systems and proposing performance and usability.
Mentor other engineers on database best practices and processes
Contribute to establish structured methodologies and processes to bring the database development though the whole change and release management process.
Qualifications
You should have: 4-8 years of experience
Technical Skills:
Advanced SQL expertise: Ability to write complex queries and optimize them for performance
Performance tuning and setting up resource monitors
SQL performance measuring, query tuning, and database tuning
Data warehousing design: Proficiency in designing scalable and secure data warehousing solutions within Snowflake
Ability to build analytical solutions and models
Performance tuning: Skills to fine-tune Snowflake settings for handling large volumes of data with optimal speed and efficiency
Data modeling: Expertise in creating logical and physical data models to support analytics and business intelligence
Knowledge of Snowflake's security features: In-depth understanding of Snowflake's security mechanisms, such as data encryption and access controls
Good understanding of Snowflake warehousing, architecture, processing, administration
ETL processes: Extensive experience with tools and techniques for extracting, transforming, and loading data into Snowflake
Managing sets of XML, JSON, and CSV from disparate sources
Data ingestion into Snowflake and native connectors
Data Governance: Good understanding of solid foundational data warehousing concepts, data modeling, metadata management, multi-dimensional models, data dictionaries
Snowflake modelling – roles, databases, schemas
Proficient in languages like Python and Java
Enterprise-level technical exposure to Snowflake applications
Nice to have working knowledge of:
Hybrid tables, External tables, Iceberg tables
SQL API, Snowpark API
Continuous data pipelines and protection
Native app framework
External functions
Connectors and Drivers
Supported cloud regions and platforms
Nearly zero administration
Cloud agnostic solution
Concurrency and workload isolation
