Role Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager with a strong background in Backend Development, Architecture Design, and SQL. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of hands-on technical experience and a proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving the technical strategy, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership : Provide strong technical guidance in backend development using

JAVA

and drive best practices in

architecture design

and

database management

with

SQL .Architecture & Design : Lead the design and development of scalable, reliable, and efficient backend systems and services, ensuring alignment with business goals.Team Management : Manage, mentor, and grow a team of talented engineers. Create an environment that promotes technical excellence and accountability.Project Delivery : Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring timely and quality deliverables. Collaborate closely with product, QA, and other cross-functional teams.Innovation : Promote a culture of continuous improvement, driving innovation, and ensuring the team stays up-to-date with the latest technology trends.Code Reviews : Conduct regular code reviews to maintain high-quality coding standards and architecture integrity.Stakeholder Management : Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, align technical decisions with business objectives, and communicate project progress effectively.Performance Optimization : Ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability through strong database management and backend optimization.Budgeting & Resource Allocation : Manage resources effectively, including budgeting, staffing, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Required Skills and Experience:Backend Development (JAVA) : Extensive experience with

Java

and related backend frameworks. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.Architecture Design : Proven experience in designing scalable and high-performing system architectures. Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, cloud infrastructure, and system design principles.SQL & Database Management : Expertise in

SQL

databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.), with experience in writing complex queries, optimizing performance and building scalable database solutions.Microservices architecture:

Understanding of microservices principles, benefits, and challenges is crucial. Extensive experience with building and managing microservices-based systems is a must.API Design : Proficiency in RESTful API design principles and best practices is essential. Experience with GraphQL or other API paradigms can be advantageous.Scalability and performance optimization:

A strong grasp of concepts like load balancing, caching, and distributed systems is vital.DevOps : Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.Cloud Platforms : Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Team Leadership : Minimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial role, with experience managing and mentoring engineers.Agile Methodologies : Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes and experience in leading engineering teams in agile environments.Problem Solving : Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex systems and propose innovative solutions.

Educational Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Soft Skills:Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.A proactive approach with a focus on results and quality.
