Key Responsibility Area
- Capex Project feasibility Assessment and Initiation, Basic Engineering, Tendering & Technical Evaluation for Procurement of Plant & Machinery & Mechanical Contractor - Study & Review CAPEX proposals of operating plant units.
- Technical support for preparation of basic technical concepts, cost estimation and procurement of equipment.
- Interaction with Site team for understanding the requirement and proposal, visit to site for collecting all the necessary information.
- Develop overall scheme for the project and guide the team to chalk out the detailed plant layout in line with the defined project scope.
- Prepare technical tender documents for Capex Projects equipment’s and mechanical contractor.
- Implement and monitor safety practices and environmental guidelines during the design phase.
- Conduct detailed technical analysis of the packages being evaluated and participate in technical discussions with the vendors or contractors.
- Prepare Technical Annexure for Contract documents.
Detailed Engineering -
- Coordinate with suppliers/OEMs/contractors post ordering and work out detailed schedule for engineering and other deliverables.
- Technical discussion with Suppliers' engineering team and ensure timely submission of the GA drawings post review and finalization of the same by all disciplines.
- Provide inputs for Civil design in sequential manner as per design progress and provide clarifications on inputs and load data as and when required.
- Ensure correct and timely concurrence on civil design drawings strictly in line with mechanical general drawings.
- Track the same for on-time delivery and project execution.
- Provide necessary inputs to other stake holders for initiating engineering & procurement at their end.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction during detailed engineering and ensure adoption of suitable cost-saving initiatives.
- Work out steel estimates and provide inputs for steel procurement.
- Ensure the timely release of fabrication drawings and other execution related documents required for commencement of site execution work.
Site Execution Supports -
- Conduct a joint kick off meeting along with all DHs for the in-house/external site execution team for orienting them on the project scope and other mandatory requirements.
- Co-ordinate/ connect with the site team on a regular basis to address technical queries, if any, and enable support from the design team as and when required during the execution to meet schedule timelines.
- Closely monitor expenses and implement cost controls to minimize over-runs, submitting budgetary deviations to the Superior.
- Extend necessary support during PG test and commissioning activity for successful project completion.
- Handle post-commissioning issues at site with suppliers and formulate suitable engineering solutions to resolve it.
Others
- To monitor performance of existing approved vendors and assess capability of new vendors to register new vendors in line with: Quality improvements, Cost effectiveness and Cost competitiveness.
- Develop and update the standards design criteria, equipment tenders & QAP's based on the latest advancement in technology and learnings on past projects.
- Track industry bench marks, feedback from operating units and continual improvement in future projects.
- Stay updated on the latest market trends in the Mechanical engineering and cement manufacturing sectors.
- Should have good team management and communication skills.
- Good Knowledge of AutoCAD Drawings and Load details.
