Job Title: Senior Manager – Research

As a part of the Strategic Research team in Knowledge Services function of MMGS, the candidate will support our sales and client facing colleagues in the Middle East region, with in - depth research collaterals that enable client executives prepare and communicate the Marsh McLennan proposition sharply to clients and prospects across various industries. These include end products that support business planning, client insights packs and detailed industry and risk research.

What will you focus on:

- Macro-economic analysis to support understanding the business environment specifically for use in annual planning. This would include industry-based intelligence + outlook analysis to support the business discuss issues with clients and prospects- Market sizing and prospect listing of clients that could be related to industries, locations, business type, etc- Client dialogue decks to support initial discussions with clients and prospects based on our understanding of their core issues- Industry primers highlighting deep insights into industry trends, challenges, outlook, external drivers, performance and key risks- Insight reports that provide an overview of the company, their strategy and key risks. These reports are an essential part of our client and prospect engagement strategy and should be utilized before strategy development meeting for clients, Labs, internal client strategy or prospect planning sessions- Competitor analysis that highlights what the client / prospects competitors’ strategic intent, key activities being undertaken, and how that relates to opportunities- Market analysis that provides a detailed analysis of a specific market and product line analysis providing a deep-dive into an Insurance product line in country which allows for targeted marketing

We will count on you to

- Invest in understanding our business thoroughly- Deliver with excellence on high-impact research projects- comprehensive research, synthesized well in appropriate end product formats- Demonstrate critical thinking on research projects and problem solve with stakeholders on live research projects, for better client outcomes consistently- Be extremely responsive in daily work and showcase research process excellence- Estimate timelines accurately, deliver on time, flag issues proactively, be solution oriented and create routines that enhance efficient working- Develop strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders through high quality project delivery, responsiveness, and agile and clear communication- Contribute to process improvement of the team by making relevant recommendations and executing the process initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of overall delivery.

What you need to have:

- Masters / Bachelors in Economics or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) / equivalent post-graduation certification from a reputed institute- 4-6 years of experience in strategic research (qualitative | secondary), at a leading professional services / market intelligence / research firm including prospect list building, developing client profiles and performing industry research- Exposure to building frameworks, drawing insights and performing analysis aligned to the ‘Sales Strategy’, focusing on clients / prospects, markets, competitors, people, products and regulatory development- Strong commitment to absorb and engage in feedback discussions and enhancing own knowledge and quality of end products- Deep understanding of financial concepts, global marketplace, key trends, economic and geo-political developments, key business, financial and people risks- Strong understanding of strategy frameworks (PESTEL, Porter’s 5 forces, SWOT, etc.) and their applications in bringing out cutting edge insights- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, storyboarding and report writing skills, and excellent communication skills – verbal, writing, listening- Advanced level of proficiency in MS Office - PowerPoint and, Word and working knowledge of Excel, Excel, and SharePoint- Extensive exposure of commercial databases such as S&P Cap IQ, Factiva, Global Data, A.M Best Insurance service etc.
