Role Description:
As the Manager - Performance Management System (SME) , you will serve as the in-house expert and leader for all things related to performance management within Listenlights. You will be responsible for designing, refining, and leading the execution of our performance management systems, processes, and tools to ensure that we consistently drive high performance, employee engagement, and alignment with company goals. You will leverage your deep expertise in performance management to advise senior leadership, HR teams, and line managers on best practices, strategies, and methodologies for optimizing employee performance across the organization.
You will also drive the integration of performance management processes with other HR systems (such as learning and development, employee engagement, and succession planning), ensuring that our performance management system is not only effective but aligned with our broader talent management strategy.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Performance Management Strategy Design and Execution:
Lead the strategic design and continuous enhancement of performance management frameworks, ensuring they are aligned with Listenlights' goals, values, and culture.
Develop comprehensive programs for performance reviews, feedback cycles, goal-setting, and performance improvement.
Subject Matter Expertise (SME) Consultation:
Serve as the go-to expert in performance management for all departments and HR teams.
Provide consultative guidance to leadership and managers on the implementation of performance management practices, including coaching and mentoring in performance feedback, goal-setting techniques, and performance assessments.
Goal-Setting and Alignment:
Lead the design and implementation of systems to ensure that organizational, team, and individual goals are effectively aligned. Ensure that performance expectations are clear, measurable, and support both short-term and long-term business objectives.
Performance Appraisals and Calibration:
Oversee the performance appraisal process across the company, ensuring fair and consistent evaluations.
Use your SME knowledge to guide managers in conducting performance discussions that are constructive, data-driven, and objective.
Lead the calibration sessions to ensure that ratings are accurate, fair, and aligned across departments.
Continuous Feedback and Development Culture:
Advocate for a culture of continuous feedback by developing frameworks that allow for both formal and informal performance conversations.
Train and empower managers to provide real-time, actionable feedback that fosters ongoing development.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
Leverage advanced analytics to monitor the effectiveness of performance management systems.
Analyze performance data, identify trends and areas of improvement, and recommend data-driven adjustments to performance processes, systems, and employee development strategies.
Performance Management Tools and Technology:
Stay at the forefront of performance management technology trends.
Oversee the selection, integration, and optimization of performance management software and HRIS platforms.
Ensure that the tools are user-friendly, effective, and integrated with other HR systems such as learning management, succession planning, and compensation systems.
Leadership Development and Coaching:
Partner with senior leadership to develop high-potential employees, ensuring performance management processes feed into leadership development initiatives.
Use your expertise to coach leaders on how to give constructive feedback, set development goals, and manage performance issues effectively.
Training and Education:
Design and deliver training programs for managers and employees on performance management tools, processes, and best practices.
Ensure that all stakeholders are well-equipped to participate in and benefit from the performance management cycle.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with HR business partners, talent acquisition, learning and development, and compensation teams to align performance management practices with talent development, employee engagement, and reward systems.
Compliance and Industry Best Practices:
Ensure that performance management practices are compliant with labor laws and ethical guidelines.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in performance management to keep the company’s systems cutting-edge and effective.
Employee Engagement and Retention:
Use your expertise to create initiatives that link performance management to employee engagement and retention efforts.
Ensure that performance management practices foster a positive employee experience and contribute to the company’s retention goals.
Must Have Requirements:
Education: Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related field. A Master's degree or professional HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar) are highly desirable.
7+ years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years specifically in performance management or talent management roles.
Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing performance management systems and processes.
Experience in managing performance management software (e.g., SuccessFactors, Workday, Darwinbox or similar) and integrating with other HR systems.
Strong subject matter expertise in performance management systems, including goal-setting frameworks, performance reviews, feedback cycles, and employee development strategies.
Ability to leverage data and analytics to drive decision-making and process optimization.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and consult at all levels of the organization.
Advanced understanding of HR technology, HRIS, and performance management platforms.
Proven ability to coach and mentor managers on performance-related topics.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Experience in employee engagement, retention, and leadership development strategies.
