Job Description:

As an Engineering Manager in Security at Solarwinds, your primary responsibility will be to lead and guide a team focused on ensuring the security of our product offerings, with a special emphasis on cloud security. You will leverage your deep understanding of security principles, vulnerabilities, and best practices to protect our on-premises and cloud-based products.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define the security strategy for our on-prem and cloud-based products .
  • Provide expert guidance on security issues, risk assessment , and mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about emerging threats and technologies in cloud security and apply this knowledge to protect our products.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure secure integration of tools into CI/CD pipeline, cloud services, and infrastructure.
  • Design, advocate, and implement cloud-specific security measures, including IAM (Identity and Access Management), data encryption , secure network configurations, and activity monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant cloud security standards and regulations.
  • Liaise with external security experts and cloud service providers to stay informed about new vulnerabilities and best practices.
  • Lead cloud security incident response efforts, investigating incidents and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct security awareness and training sessions for development teams, emphasizing the importance of security in cloud environments.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team.
  • Coach team members on security concepts and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a closely related field, with significant coursework or experience in cloud computing.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 3 years in managing security teams.
  • Deep understanding of security principles, vulnerabilities, and risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with security automation tools and orchestration.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and the ability to convey complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Previous involvement with regulatory compliance (e.g., SOC2/Fedramp) and data protection strategies in cloud contexts is a plus.
