The India Tax Manager will be a key member of the global corporate tax team, working in India and reporting to the executive director of international tax operations in the US. This position will have one direct report and is responsible for managing all aspects of the India tax function for the organization, including both direct and indirect taxes. The role will partner closely with other various teams including accounting and finance to add value across the business. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, responsive, flexible and can handle multiple projects while producing accurate and timely results.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Prepare and lodge income tax returns for Indian entitiesEnsure timely and accurate reporting of advance tax paymentsAnalyze provision-to-return adjustments and record true-upsPrepare and file indirect (GST) tax returns & process paymentsManage both resident and non-resident withholding tax reporting processesPrepare Indian tax provision calculations and book tax entriesCollaborate with controllers and auditors on preparation & audit of local statutory financial statementsWork with service providers on annual tax auditsComplete annual BEPS compliance reporting including CBCR and TPReconcile tax accounts periodicallyProvide information for tax forecasting, cash taxes, and global minimum tax reporting such as CBCR, Pillar 2, and GILTIAssist with transfer pricing audit processManage tax reporting for non-resident shareholder entitiesIdentify tax risks and planning opportunities within the India tax functionHelp manage outsourced tax functions in nearby APAC jurisdictionsRespond to tax notices and other inquiries as neededManage both direct and indirect tax audits as neededMaintain knowledge of direct and indirect tax law by researching and monitoring the tax landscape and provide subject matter expertise as neededOther duties as assigned by the corporate tax team

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus 5-7 years corporate tax experienceStrong understanding of direct and indirect tax laws in IndiaStrong overall computer and data management skills including familiarity with general ledger systems and solutionsStrong functional and technical tax skills, organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate effectively with global business and finance teamsAbility to work both individually and in a collaborative environment and meet critical deadlines
