Java Developer

Job Summary Synechron is seeking a dedicated Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications. As part of our technology team, your expertise will support delivering robust solutions aligned with business needs, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and efficient software systems. This role contributes directly to our clients’ digital transformation efforts by implementing effective application solutions and driving technical excellence within the organization. Software Requirements Required: Proficiency in Java programming language (Java SE and Java EE) Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Struts (minimum 3 years of hands-on experience for each) Familiarity with development environments including Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, or NetBeans (experience with at least one tool) Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server, including database design and management Preferred: Experience with build tools like Maven or Gradle Knowledge of version control systems such as Git Familiarity with front-end technologies and integration (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Experience with cloud deployment platforms and containerization is a plus Overall Responsibilities Develop, test, and maintain scalable Java applications according to specifications Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and develop solutions that meet business objectives Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues efficiently to ensure system stability Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and facilitate knowledge sharing Stay current with emerging Java technologies and proactively incorporate relevant advancements Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies Support deployment activities and collaborate with testing teams to ensure product quality Technical Skills (By Category) Programming Languages: Required: Java (Java SE/EE) with at least 5 years of experience Preferred: Knowledge of additional programming languages like Kotlin or Scala Databases/Data Management: Required: Experience with MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server including schema design and query optimization Preferred: Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra Frameworks and Libraries: Required: Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC), Hibernate ORM, Struts (minimum 3 years' experience) Preferred: Apache Kafka or other messaging systems for data streaming Development Tools and Methodologies: Required: Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, or NetBeans IDEs; Agile/Scrum methodology experience Preferred: Continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Maven, or Gradle; familiarity with Jira and Confluence Security Protocols: Understanding of application security best practices, including secure coding, authentication, and authorization mechanisms Experience Requirements Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in Java application development Proven track record in developing, testing, and deploying enterprise-level Java applications Experience collaborating within Agile teams and participating in code reviews Demonstrated expertise in relational database design and ORM technologies Exposure to software development lifecycle processes and best practices Industry experience in financial services, healthcare, or technology sectors is preferred but not mandatory Day-to-Day Activities Participate in daily stand-up meetings to coordinate development efforts Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and DevOps teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions Design, develop, and test Java modules and components Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards Troubleshoot and resolve defects promptly to maintain application stability Document code and system configurations for knowledge sharing and future maintenance Engage in sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies Stay informed on latest Java trends and incorporate improvements into ongoing projects Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent professional experience accepted Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Java SE Programmer Certification are preferred Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in software engineering Professional Competencies Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for effective debugging and system design Effective written and verbal communication suited for technical and non-technical stakeholders Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team Skilled in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments Adaptability to evolving technologies and project requirements Innovative mindset focused on delivering scalable and efficient solutions Diversity & Inclusion are fundamental to our culture, and Synechron is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
