Responsibilities:
As an experienced Environmental Manager with a proven track record of over 15 years in the environmental sustainability field, your primary mission is to lead transformative initiatives and advise decision-makers on advanced sustainability strategies. Drawing from extensive knowledge of international sustainability benchmarks, frameworks, and cutting-edge methodologies, you will go beyond conventional sustainability topics and delve into emerging trends. Your role would specifically also focus on leading business development efforts, spending significant time building client relationships, writing proposals, and generating new business opportunities.

Your responsibilities encompass:

1. ESG Strategy & Roadmap

Lead the development of comprehensive ESG strategies and roadmaps for clients across diverse sectors Collaborate to align ESG initiatives with business goals and regulatory requirements

2. ESG Reporting & BRSR Support and Implementation

Oversee ESG reports, ensuring compliance with global reporting frameworks Possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of Business Responsibility and
Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) frameworks.

3. Decarbonisation and Net Zero Strategies and Implementation:

Provide expertise in decarbonization, identifying carbon reduction opportunities, and developing Net Zero roadmaps Advise on sustainable practices for carbon neutrality and environmental sustainability

4. Circular Economy and Secondary Resource Management:

Design circular economy initiatives, emphasizing resource efficiency and waste
reduction Specialize in handling specialist waste streams such as e-waste, solar waste, plastics, etc. Develop strategies for effective secondary resource management, promoting recycling
and reuse

5. Client Consultation and Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as a trusted advisor to industry clients, offering strategic guidance on environmental
issues and sustainability Engage stakeholders to ensure alignment with environmental best practices

6. Business Development:

Devote substantial time to building and nurturing client relationships Write proposals, contribute to pitch meetings, and generate new business
opportunities Play a key role in expanding the firm's presence in the sustainability consulting space.

7. Team Leadership and Intellectual Property (IP) Development:

Lead and mentor project teams, providing feedback and coaching to junior colleagues Actively participate in industry networks, contributing to the development and sharing
of best practices Contribute to the development or enhancement of intellectual property in the sustainability and environmental management domain

Your profile

We are looking for someone with scientific and technical rigor who seeks to translate results into concrete and economically viable implementation.

You have a minimum of 15 years of experience in an environmental role, ideally in one of our priority sectors – Oil & Gas, Metals and Mining, Chemicals, Industry and Manufacturing, Private Equity, among others You have in-depth understanding of environmental consulting and the demand of a Manager’s role You’re passionate about impact-driven work and are excited by the opportunity to work with clients who are striving to integrate profit & purpose You are able to engage with clients, hold discussions and negotiations, prepare clear and concise proposals and build the sustainability practice and business through extensive networking and business development activities You thrive in complexity, are a natural problem-solver, and dig deep for patterns and paths, even amidst a great deal of ambiguity, with flexibility to analyze and adapt to situations You aren’t afraid to ask questions when you need clarity and are willing to challenge both your own and your team’s perspectives You can navigate complex research projects, absorb and synthesize large amounts of information, confidently draw conclusions from your research, and put them into clear recommendations and points for the team You are detail oriented, well-organized and enjoy bringing structure to projects through work planning, list-making and “managing up” You possess effective leadership skills to drive execution in complex environments. You can work independently but are personable, a good listener and connect easily with others, making you a great team player You enjoy the variety and sometimes ambiguous contexts of contributing to a wide range of client projects unfolding simultaneously You have strong/effective verbal and written communication to be able to interact at different levels of the organization, from Executive down to technicians and operators You are in a position to effectively work in a remote setting across different time zones

Your Capabilities

You have strong proposal development and sales pitch making skills and experience You are proficient with various sustainability and ESG frameworks, such as IFC, SDGs, GRI, UN Global compact, CDP, TCFD etc. You are experienced in developing customized ESG and Sustainability strategies for industries, and supporting them in implementing these strategies and achieving their vision and goals You are experienced with developing business / value cases and supporting the development and integration of sustainability models and solutions You have a firm understanding of GHG accounting and can help clients in understanding their GHG impact, and supporting their decarbonization and/or Net Zero journey You have the relevant knowledge and experience in understanding complex sustainability issues for different clients across various sectors and can help build customized solutions in assisting them with their sustainability transformation journey You have experience conducting ESG due diligence across multiple industry sectors and geographies (desirable) You have a strong experience in developing materiality assessments and in driving and facilitating the stakeholder process to establish the materiality matrix of a client You are involved and connected with the community of practitioners in the field of sustainability and ESG You have been involved in formulating environmental sustainability strategy for clients, with a track record in sustainability plan development and implementation You enjoy a client-facing role with proven track record in managing projects and clients You are agile and collaborative, leveraging expertise from others when needed You are a versatile, quick thinker and show willingness and ability to pick up new concepts quickly You are strong in numerical, analytical thinking skills and detailed-oriented You possess excellent verbal & written communication skills in English

Qualifications / Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Environmental Science or Management, Engineering or other academic field relevant to sustainability; An MBA, a Master’s degree or similar is preferred 15+ years relevant experience in sustainability either in consulting or in-house – position will match level of experience Track record in one or several of the following sectors is a plus: Metals & Mining, Industry & Manufacturing, Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Private Equity, Consumer industries, Utilities, transportation systems, Food & beverage, agro-food Have awareness and experience in the concepts and application of relevant international frameworks e.g., GRI, SASB, ISO14001, GHG Protocol principles, SBTi, TCFD. Training or certification in implementing such frameworks is a plus Can develop relevant recommendations and solutions to enhance the management of sustainability risk in a range of formats including reports, presentations and workshops both in person and virtually Can provide professional advice to clients in developing and adjusting project approaches, methodology and tools to guide risk programs and initiatives Have exceptional interpersonal skills and team-working attitude to be able to work in multicultural and multi-disciplinary teams Possess high level of proficiency with MS Office tools, especially MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Fluent in both written and spoken English, other language will be a plus
