Position Overview:We are seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Professor & Head of Department (HOD) for our Product Design/Industrial Design department. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, industry experience, and a passion for leading and nurturing the next generation of designers. The candidate should have a proven track record in academia and a degree from a Tier 1 Design School.Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Administration:Lead the Product Design/Industrial Design department, managing faculty, resources, and curriculum development.Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with the university's goals and objectives.Foster a collaborative environment and encourage innovation in design education.Teaching & Mentorship:Deliver high-quality instruction in Product Design/Industrial Design courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.Mentor and guide students in their academic and professional development, including supervision of projects, theses, and dissertations.Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate them into the curriculum.Research & Development:Pursue research activities and contribute to the body of knowledge in Product Design/Industrial Design.Publish in reputable journals, present at conferences, and contribute to the university's research profile.Collaborate with industry partners on research projects and innovative design solutions.Industry Engagement:Establish and maintain strong ties with industry professionals and organizations to enhance the department's reputation and provide students with real-world exposure.Organize workshops, seminars, and guest lectures with industry experts.Curriculum Development:Continuously assess and improve the curriculum to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the design industry.Introduce new courses and programs that reflect emerging trends and technologies in Product Design/Industrial Design.Quality Assurance:Ensure the highest standards of academic quality and integrity within the department.Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to improve teaching methodologies and student outcomes.Qualifications:A PhD in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field from a Tier 1 Design School (e.g., NID, IDC, IIT, etc.).A minimum of 10 years of teaching and research experience in a reputed academic institution.Proven leadership experience in an academic setting, preferably in a similar role.Strong portfolio of design work and research publications.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications:Industry experience in Product Design/Industrial Design.Experience in curriculum development and academic administration.A network of contacts within the design industry and academia.Compensation & Benefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and professional development opportunities.Access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources.
