Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate Backend Engineers to join our rapidly growing team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of development experience in Java/J2EE technologies including Spring Boot, Microservices, container orchestration services like Kubernetes, EKS, ECS and distributed systems like Kafka. Proficiency in cloud technologies, especially AWS, and CI/CD pipelines is essential. Knowledge of healthcare domain including FHIR interoperability standards, regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, GDPR, and security standards like OWASP are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems hosted on AWS for our healthcare companion device.
- Implement backend services using Java/J2EE technologies, Microservices, and distributed systems like Kafka.
- Build data pipelines and data streams for real-time data processing and analytics.
- Ensure secure data handling, incorporating security measures and access control for authorized users.
- Develop and maintain API interfaces using API Gateways, ensuring robust security and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Conduct rigorous testing and debugging to achieve high reliability and compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Establish continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to enhance development efficiency and deployment reliability.
- Utilize Kubernetes or managed Kubernetes services like EKS and ECS for container orchestration and management.
- Promote a culture of technical excellence and proactive compliance with healthcare industry standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on cloud technologies, especially AWS.
- Proficiency in Java/J2EE with a commitment to strong coding practices and code quality.
- Strong understanding of technical and compliance aspects related to handling sensitive healthcare data.
- Experience with Kubernetes or managed Kubernetes services like EKS and ECS.
- Experience in Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
Desirable:
- AWS certifications, particularly those related to security and architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security - Specialty).
- Knowledge of regulated industries (e.g., HIPAA, FDA, CE marked products).
