Job Overview The Hospital Finance Counselor at Spandana Hospital will be a vital part of the healthcare finance team, operating from our headquarters in Bangalore. This is a full-time, mid-level position requiring 4 to 6 years of experience in healthcare finance. The role demands expertise in patient financial counseling, understanding health insurance regulations, and managing revenue cycles to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency. Qualifications and Skills Demonstrated expertise in patient financial counseling (Mandatory skill), ensuring patients understand their payment obligations and available options. Thorough knowledge of health insurance regulations (Mandatory skill) to effectively guide and assist patients with insurance-related inquiries. Proficiency in revenue cycle management (Mandatory skill) to maximize the hospital's financial performance efficiently. Experience with medical billing software to handle billing processes efficiently and accurately. Skill in insurance verification to confirm patient insurance information is accurate and current. Ability to manage accounts receivable effectively, ensuring timely collections and maintaining financial records. Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid to navigate government healthcare programs effectively and assist in compliance. Capability in healthcare financial analytics to interpret financial data and provide insights for strategic decision-making. Roles and Responsibilities Conduct patient financial counseling sessions to discuss payment options and obligations. Verify patient insurance coverage and ensure proper documentation is maintained for billing purposes. Manage the revenue cycle, including billing, collections, and claims processing to maintain financial health. Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve coverage issues and improve reimbursement rates. Maintain accurate financial records and reports to aid in financial planning and auditing processes. Assist patients with understanding health insurance terms and processes to ensure they receive proper coverage and benefits. Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure financial processes align with patient care objectives. Participate in financial performance reviews and recommend improvements based on data analysis.
