To plan, execute, and monitor Periodic Overhaul (PDH) and Routine Overhaul (ROH) activities of railway wagons/coaches, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality norms, and statutory railway regulations while optimizing maintenance efficiency and asset reliability. Responsibilities Maintenance & Operations Plan and supervise PDH & ROH activities as per prescribed maintenance schedules and railway standards. Ensure timely execution of maintenance jobs to meet operational availability and turnaround time (TAT) targets. Diagnose technical faults, analyze failures, and implement corrective and preventive maintenance actions. Ensure proper inspection, testing, and certification of wagons/coaches post-overhaul. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with Railway Safety Rules, RDSO guidelines, OEM manuals , and statutory norms. Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and documentation for audits and inspections. Promote and enforce safe work practices within the maintenance team. Team & Vendor Management Lead, guide, and coordinate with engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contract workforce. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for outsourced maintenance activities and spares. Conduct skill development, toolbox talks, and on-the-job training for the team. Planning & Continuous Improvement Prepare maintenance plans, job cards, manpower deployment, and material requirements. Monitor spares consumption and support inventory optimization. Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and reliability enhancement . Support breakdown analysis and implementation of long-term improvement actions. Coordination & Reporting Coordinate with production, quality, stores, and safety departments for smooth maintenance operations. Prepare and submit periodic reports on maintenance performance, downtime, and compliance status. Qualifications B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Railway Engineering or relevant discipline. Experiences & Competencies Senior Engineer: 5–8 years Assistant Manager: 8–12 years Relevant experience in Railway Wagon/Coach Maintenance, PDH & ROH operations is mandatory. Strong knowledge of railway maintenance systems, PDH & ROH procedures Familiarity with RDSO standards, safety protocols, and maintenance documentation
