Job Title:
Senior Data Engineer
Experience:
5 -8 years
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer/Architect to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, storage solutions, and integration frameworks that drive our data initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to build scalable and efficient data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Architecture Design:
- Design and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective data architectures.
- Develop data models for OLTP (transactional) and OLAP (analytical) systems.
- Establish best practices for data storage, access, and governance.
2. Data Pipeline Development:
- Build and manage robust ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and transformation using Airflow and Pandas.
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability.
3. Data Integration and Management:
- Integrate data from diverse sources, such as APIs, flat files, and databases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and align them with business needs.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, and metadata management for transparency and traceability.
4. Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work with data analysts and scientists to enable advanced analytics.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers.
- Document system designs, processes, and standards.
Required Skills:
Programming Skills:
- Proficient in Python and SQL (mandatory).
Data Tools & Frameworks:
- Airflow (mandatory).
- DBT-Core, Kafka, PySpark.
Cloud Expertise:
- Experience with AWS cloud ecosystems.
Database Expertise:
- Proficiency in MySQL, Postgres, and MongoDB.
- Familiarity with MSSQL and SQLite (optional).
Frameworks (Optional):
- Knowledge of Django and Flask is a plus.
