SAP EHS Functional Testing Consultant(Environment Health & Safety)

Job Description :

Quality Assurance Lead plays a pivotal role in effectively applying the Quality Assurance framework within the organization and ensuring our deliverables meet internal and external quality expectations. They are responsible for maintaining the quality of our products by managing and controlling the quality assurance processes as part of the production process, as well as conducting technical, functional, and regression tests, in order to meet established quality standards and improve the organization's final products


What is your department's deliverables :


1) Product Development and Innovation : Designing, developing, and iterating on products.


2) Technical Documentation : Producing detailed documentation that supports the development process, including design specifications, testing protocols, user manuals, and maintenance guides.


3) Quality Assurance and Testing : Implementing rigorous testing frameworks to ensure products are reliable, meet industry standards, and deliver a positive user experience.

4) Project Management : Delivering comprehensive project plans, timelines, and progress reports that ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget, facilitating effective communication and coordination across teams.


5) Software and System Architecture : Developing the foundational structures of systems and applications, ensuring our development processes are efficient and scalable, supporting theorganization's operations and growth.


What is the relationship this role has to other departments within the organization :


The QA Lead works directly with the chemical analysts, rules / templates / phrases developers, dangerous goods, and S4 personnel. They will also collaborate with Product stakeholders to ensure that what we're producing is fit for purpose and maintained at the highest standards of quality, and the Technology / Engineering teams, to stay current on best practices and approaches that we should be incorporating in our own QA / QC processes across the 3E ICD team.


Where does the role fit within your organizational structure :


The QA Lead supports the development and data teams in Agile working environment through the release cycles by developing and executing robust QA / QC / testing protocols and processes. They play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation of high quality chemical data and integrated content. They are responsible for supporting and coaching any other QA team members, promoting continuous improvement, and maintaining high product standards of excellence for our data across all products as the primary way thatwe deliver value to stakeholders and our and Accountabilities :

1. QA Policies & Standards :


- Implement quality assurance policies and procedures


- Iterate and improve existing quality standards to enhance the organization's quality level


- Develop and document QA testing procedures and best practices


- Train employees on quality standards- Ensure team adherence to the corporate quality standards


- Identify deviance of internal approaches from standards, and suggest modifications toensure compliance to internal standards

2. Management of QA Process :


- Plan, execute, and oversee testing for quality and conformance to specifications and deliverables


- Provide guidance to the teams on quality matters

- Design test plans and test cases


- Implement test plans and report results


- Create and manage detailed test cases based on specifications and product requirements


- Coordinate testing efforts


- Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes


- Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with release scope, milestone plan and delivery dates


- Investigate reports of product quality issues and ensure resolution in accordance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements

3. Testing :


- Conduct technical, functional, and regression tests of developments


- Perform routine inspections and quality tests


- Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers


- Validate bug fixes and conduct regression tests

4. QA Documentation:


- Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards


- Create or maintain documentation of known test defects


- Document quality assurance activities with internal reporting

5. Continuous Improvement :


- Identify and resolve process and production issues


- Create test scripts to automate test cases and conduct routine tasks


- Provide feedback and recommendations to developers to improve the production process and product quality- Design or develop automated testing tools


- Make recommendations for improvement

6. Reporting :


- Analyze quality metrics, identify trends, and derive countermeasures to keep or improve existing quality levels


- Conduct historical analyses of test results


- Generate QA reports as part of the production process to ensure reasonable test coverage and high quality standards for determination of release readiness

7. Collaboration :


- Be part of and engage in Scrum ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives, and more


- Participate in business requirements reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems


- Be an advocate for excellent quality perception and coach quality values


- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to understand and manage quality expectations

Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience


- Proficiency in best practices for QA management, testing, and defect management


- Deep knowledge of QA terminology, methods, and tools


- Proficiency in Quality Assurance tools and software


- Proficiency in SAP EHS


- Ideally experienced with 3E ERC and/or 3E Optimize


- Understanding of agile/scrum methodology and how QA functions within it


- Strong attention to detail

- Excellent organizational and methodological skills


- Analytical mindset with quality metrics interpretation ability


- Excellent verbal and written communication skills


- Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams and stakeholders


- Problem-solving and decision-making skills


- Commitment to continuous learning


- Fluent in English
