Job Purpose:

The Mechanical Field Service engineer prime duty is to lead Field Service work,

onshore and offshore projects for Steam Turbines

Also supervise teams of technicians working on client’s site and equipment.

Field Service engineer travels to power plants wherever required to perform

erection, commission, maintenance, repair, and modification of steam turbine

generators and related equipment up to a maximum 50 MW and has a high degree

of customer interface.


Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

 Supervision of Mechanical erection, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance with crews ranging in size from 1 to 10 persons disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling steam Turbine-Generators and its Auxiliaries.

 Leads job site safety and knowledge about EHS programs.

 Performs site surveys to develop maintenance plans.

 Completes and submits detailed reports covering all job activity.

 Lead and direct subcontractors to perform specific maintenance related tasks.

 Knowledge about Welding procedure and qualification.

 Preparation of site reports, schedule,

 Problem analysis and root cause identification on STG package

 Lead / opportunity generation for Spares, Footprints , Revamps etc.

Competencies:

 Experience in Turbine erection i.e., levelling , grouting and alignment

 Experience in Gear box and generator erection and alignment.

 Experience in inspection of turbine, gear box, generator, condensing system and its auxiliaries.

 Experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning of turbine and its associated equipment’s.

 General knowledge of Electrical equipment’s erection like panel, Cable trays, cable laying and switch yard

 Experience managing safety programs, performing maintenance in industrial environment with risks and hazards that require the use of practices and procedures intended to keep personnel safe and maintain a safe work environment.

 Experience in operation and maintenance of Back pressure, Extraction cum condensing turbine

 Good Customer Connect

 Market Understanding for Steam Turbines & Aftermarket activities

 Experience in After Market execution of Services , Retrofits , Footprints etc.

 Good Computer Skills & Smart use of Microsoft programs

 Willingness to travel extensively

 7-10 Years of experience in Field Service Role

 Data compilation and analytics.

 Good Business Communication and time management

 Willingness to travel extensively


Qualifications/ Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a minimum of 7-8 years of equivalent experience or Non-degreed (Diploma) candidates who can demonstrate a minimum of 9-10 years of equivalent experience.
