Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Graphic Designer & Data Visualiser to join our team. This individual will play a key role in transforming complex data and information into compelling visual content that communicates key messages effectively. The ideal candidate will combine strong design sensibilities with a deep understanding of data visualization principles to produce clear, engaging, and impactful graphics for various platforms, including reports, presentations, and digital content.
Responsibilities:
- Design and produce visually appealing graphics and layouts for various media (digital, print, presentations, and social media).- Create innovative and effective data visualizations, infographics, and charts to help communicate complex information clearly and concisely.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (communications, marketing, and program) to understand project goals and deliver designs that align with brand guidelines and objectives.- Design and update reports, presentations, and visual assets that present data-driven insights to both internal and external stakeholders.- Ensure all visuals are consistent with brand identity and messaging across all platforms.- Produce high-quality work under tight deadlines, managing multiple projects simultaneously.- Stay current with design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data visualization to continuously improve design output.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating design and data visualization expertise.- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and other design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch).- Proficiency in data visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel, and experience in creating custom charts and visualizations.- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.- Ability to transform complex data into clear, visually engaging infographics and reports.- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to create polished and professional designs.- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.- Ability to handle feedback constructively and work in a fast-paced environment.- A degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field is preferred.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a consultancy, government, or development sector.- Familiarity with motion graphics and video editing tools (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro) for dynamic presentations and social media content.
