Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Shopify Front-End Developer with a strong foundation in UI/UX design principles and Shopify development. In this role, you will ensure that our Shopify stores are visually stunning, intuitive, and optimized for performance. You will collaborate with SEO, Paid Social, Amazon specialists, and offshore teams to create user-centered e-commerce experiences that drive engagement and conversion.



Key Responsibilities

1. Shopify Store Development:

  • Lead the design and development of custom Shopify themes, ensuring responsiveness and a mobile-first approach.
  • Implement advanced Shopify Liquid customizations with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
  • Work with designers to translate Figma/Sketch prototypes into pixel-perfect, user-friendly front-end interfaces.

2. UI/UX-Centric Development:

  • Apply UX design principles to create intuitive navigation, optimized product pages, and seamless checkout experiences.
  • Collaborate with the design team to enhance visual hierarchy, typography, and color schemes for improved user engagement.
  • Use data-driven insights (from tools like Hotjar or Google Analytics ) to refine and enhance the user experience.

3. Optimization & Performance:

  • Conduct regular audits with tools like Google Lighthouse and GTmetrix to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement Core Web Vitals best practices, such as lazy loading, code minification, and efficient asset delivery.
  • Collaborate with SEO specialists to optimize page structures, metadata, and schema for search engines.

4. Tracking & Data Integration:

  • Work with the Paid Social Specialist to integrate and maintain tracking tools like Facebook Pixel and TikTok Pixel.
  • Configure enhanced e-commerce tracking in Google Tag Manager (GTM) and GA4 to capture user behavior and conversion metrics.
  • Implement robust data layers to ensure accurate event tracking across all customer touchpoints.

5. Checkout Customization & API Integrations:

  • Use Shopify APIs (Checkout API, Admin API, and Storefront API) to build customized checkout solutions, such as upsells and cross-sells.
  • Integrate third-party apps, payment gateways, and CRM tools to enhance functionality.
  • Develop dynamic server-side functionalities using Shopify Functions to streamline the checkout process.

6. Collaboration with Specialists & Teams:

  • Work with the SEO Specialist to implement SEO-friendly front-end structures.
  • Partner with the Amazon Specialist to sync product listings and order tracking between Shopify and Amazon.
  • Collaborate with offshore teams to align development projects with global business goals and timelines.

7. Innovation & Leadership:

  • Stay up-to-date with Shopify updates, design trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Propose and implement innovative features to improve user engagement and conversion rates.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering a collaborative, growth-focused environment.



Qualifications

Must-Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of front-end development experience, with at least 3 years specializing in Shopify.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and experience applying them to e-commerce design.
  • Proficiency in Shopify Liquid , HTML5 , CSS3 , and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Experience with performance optimization tools like Google Lighthouse and tracking implementation using GTM and GA4.
  • Proven track record of building high-performing Shopify stores with a focus on user experience and accessibility.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with headless Shopify setups using frameworks like Next.js or Gatsby.
  • Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and user behavior analysis tools like Hotjar or FullStory.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including SEO and paid social specialists.
  • Expertise in Shopify Plus features, including checkout customizations and advanced APIs.
