Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer will translate complex functional requirements into system requirements while developing applications for First American, these are typically web based applications developed by adhering to coding standards and guidelines by following a continuous Build-Integrate-Test (Agile) approach. Role will engage with the stakeholders to convert business requirements in to a viable blue print. Senior Software Engineer will have Understanding the software development lifecycle and has knowledge of the overall application development space combined with understanding of the business and domain. Role will build basic code assigned modules and features using available stacks and knowledge of programming languages generally under supervision, will apply standard trouble shooting and debugging concepts to achieve speed and efficiency, will also review code and suggest enhancements. Senior Software Engineer will understand the Agile manifesto and ceremonies, will design and develop basic DB solutions, will establish database objects and perform performance tuning. Role will work with Configuration Management tools to enforce CM practices and processes. Role is required to adhere to the QA standards defined by the organization and will work with a deep understanding of performance bottlenecks, production infrastructure, interfaces and dependencies of the product.
Competencies:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native applications.
- Writing clean, secure, scalable, and efficient code.
- Debugging and troubleshooting issues in the existing applications.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Integrating with databases, APIs, and other third-party services.
- Ensuring software quality through unit testing, integration testing and code reviews.
- Documenting software components and technical specifications.
- Keeping up to date with the latest .Net technologies and best practices.
- Proving technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Participating in architectural discussions and contributing to system design decisions.
Technical Skills:
- Experience in designing and developing cloud-native applications using .Net core and AWS.
- Strong .Net Core experience (hands-on experience in the current project is important).
- Should be very strong in C# and .Net fundamentals.
- Must have experience in AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, Dynamo DB, SQS, SNS.
- Strong notion of security best practices (for example KMS, IAM etc.).
- Proficiency in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies of development process such as requirement analysis and definition, prototyping, proof of concept, designing, coding, testing and implementation.
- Hands-on experience in implementing software design Patterns and enterprise level design patterns.
- Experience of working with Rest API and Microservices based Architecture.
- Experience in Database services like SQL Server, AWS Dynamo DB, PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of SOLID principles.
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices for software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, CI/CD, and DevOps.
- Experience in React is good to have.
Educational Qualification and Experience:
Minimum of 15 years of formal education - Graduate / Post Graduate in Computer Science / Information Technology.
Professional work experience of 4 to 6 years.
