3. POSITION PURPOSE

The role of the Project and Program Manager within the AXA GBS Industrial Automation Division is pivotal in driving the end-to-end management of automation projects, with a significant impact on enhancing efficiency across AXA's Lines of Business, including P&C, Life, and Health. The expertise in project management and automation is instrumental in overseeing the identification, evaluation, and implementation of solutions aimed at elevating productivity, reducing operational costs, and fostering innovation. This role requires meticulous leadership, effective resource allocation, and proactive risk management to drive the successful execution of automation projects, contributing to the strategic objectives of AXA GBS.

The Project and Program Manager is entrusted with the responsibility of shaping the strategic direction of automation initiatives within AXA GBS, navigating complex project management challenges, and driving transformative changes. They are recognized for their ability to manage and guide teams, make critical decisions, and influence the organization's approach to automation, positioning themselves as a thought leader in the Industrial Automation Unit. Additionally, the role involves extensive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the organisation's strategic goals, and fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence.


4.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Management:
  • Take the lead in driving the end-to-end delivery of various automation projects, ranging from small to large scales, with a sharp focus on planning, execution, testing, and deployment to ensure seamless implementation and unwavering accountability.
  • Establish and implement a robust governance framework tailored to the unique demands of each project, ensuring comprehensive integration across various AXA GBS departments, such as IT and Finance, to streamline processes and optimize outcomes, while upholding accountability for project success.
  • Provide detailed and insightful status updates to relevant stakeholders, offering transparent insights into project progress, potential delays, emerging issues, and associated risks, while proposing proactive solutions to mitigate challenges and uphold accountability for project delivery.
  • Exercise meticulous control over project costs and benefits, leveraging financial acumen to optimize resource allocation, drive maximum value realization, and maintain accountability for financial outcomes.
  • Play a pivotal role in post-go-live operations, offering strategic support to ensure the smooth transition and stabilization of operations in the aftermath of project implementation, maintaining accountability for project stabilization.

  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Orchestrate and nurture overall internal and external partner relationships throughout various project phases, cultivating a collaborative environment to drive shared success, foster enduring partnerships, and uphold accountability for stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Engage in close collaboration with internal and external teams to champion change management initiatives and diligently monitor project risks, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of potential obstacles, while maintaining accountability for project risk management.
  • Solution Assessment & Business Case Development:
  • Champion the identification of new automation opportunities by showcasing the formidable capabilities of AXA GBS in delivery and project management, while actively engaging in in-depth discussions and negotiations with key partners and AXA GBS stakeholders and sponsors, maintaining accountability for opportunity identification and pursuit.
  • Provide unwavering support to the Solution team during pre-project activities, contributing to the creation of compelling RFP responses, offering crucial insights into the value of BPO, and contributing to the development of meticulously crafted project budgets, timelines, resource requirements, and other pertinent costs, while upholding accountability for the development of business cases.
  • Craft persuasive and meticulously detailed business cases and ROI assessments for automation projects, employing a strategic approach to secure unwavering stakeholder buy-in, and maintaining accountability for the business case outcomes.

  • Documentation & Communication:
  • Provide unwavering support to standardise the Automation Framework and its associated artifacts, particularly in the context of project management, ensuring clarity, consistency, and effectiveness in project-related documentation and processes, while upholding accountability for documentation standards.
  • Play a pivotal role in preparing Partner Visit Decks and Case Studies, harnessing compelling storytelling and strategic insights to showcase the impact and potential of automation initiatives, while maintaining accountability for the quality and impact of communication materials.
  • Lead the charge in driving training and upskilling initiatives, equipping teams with the latest concepts and technologies in project management to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation, while upholding accountability for the upskilling outcomes.
  • Master the art of effectively communicating the benefits, progress, and results of automation initiatives to stakeholders at all levels, employing a nuanced approach to tailor messages to diverse audiences and drive unwavering support, while maintaining accountability for communication effectiveness.

5. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, with a strong academic foundation in project management principles and practices.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience as a Project Manager, with a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering end-to-end automation, process improvement, and digital transformation initiatives. Expertise in driving projects across the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Proven ability to leverage analytical insights to identify and resolve project-related challenges, showcasing strong problem-solving abilities and strategic decision-making skills to drive project success.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in effectively managing cross-functional project teams, ensuring their alignment with project objectives, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment, and maintaining accountability for project outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, enabling the engagement of stakeholders, driving project progress, and ensuring transparent and effective communication at all project stages to uphold accountability for stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or other relevant frameworks, ensuring agile and efficient project delivery while meeting stakeholder expectations, and maintaining accountability for project delivery within the chosen framework. Holding certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), Lean, Six Sigma, or other widely recognised project management credentials.
