Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Linux System Engineer to design, implement, and support Linux-based systems and infrastructure. The role will focus on managing physical, virtualized, and cloud environments, ensuring system performance, security, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Linux Administration: Manage Linux distributions (Red Hat, Oracle Linux) across physical and virtual environments.
  • Virtualization: Administer VMware vCenter, vSphere, and ESX technologies.
  • System Security: Implement Linux security best practices, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption; collaborate with IT security teams.
  • Automation: Automate system administration using Bash/Python; utilize tools like Puppet.
  • Performance Monitoring: Troubleshoot system performance issues, ensure high availability.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Manage systems on IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and hybrid cloud platforms.
  • Compliance & Incident Management: Support compliance tasks (e.g., PCI) and provide third-level escalation for system issues.
  • Collaboration: Work with teams to improve engineering and operational standards.

Required Skills:

  • 10-12 years of experience in Linux system administration.
  • Strong expertise in Red Hat/Oracle Linux, VMware, and system security.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) and automation (e.g., Puppet).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning, log management, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Experience supporting e-commerce, manufacturing, or critical business applications.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of ITIL, ISO, or COBIT frameworks.
