Required Skills & Experience :

- 812 years of hands-on development experience on AS/400 / IBM iSeries.

- Proficiency in RPG, RPGLE, CL, DB2/400, SQL.

- Good understanding of SDLC processes in regulated environments.

- Familiarity with job scheduling, file transfers, and change management tools.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration Qualifications :

- Experience working in a custodian bank (e.g., Northern Trust, BNY Mellon, State Street) is a plus.

- Prior experience with tools like Aldon, Turnover, or Change Man is advantageous.

- Exposure to Agile/Scrum Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain AS400 applications.

- Write and optimize RPG, CL, and SQL code for effective data processing.

- Collaborate with business analysts to gather system requirements.

- Design and implement efficient database queries and updates.

- Debug and troubleshoot existing applications as needed.

- Create technical documentation for new and existing systems.

- Perform system testing and user acceptance testing.

- Monitor application performance and implement improvements.

- Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices.

- Provide technical support to end-users and other team members.

- Integrate AS400 applications with other enterprise systems.

- Ensure security compliance of AS400 applications.

- Assist in system upgrades and migrations as necessary.

- Collaborate with project teams to deliver on time and within budget.

- Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in AS400 Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in AS400 development.

- Strong programming skills in RPG and CL.

- Proficient in DB2 database management and SQL queries.

- Experience with any relevant frameworks or tools associated with AS400.

- Familiarity with software development methodologies, including Agile.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

- Experience with system debugging and testing tools.

- Knowledge of data integration and ETL processes.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.

- Understanding of application security principles.

- Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation.

- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments.

- Certification in IBM iSeries preferred but not mandatory.
