Job Summary:

Startup Movers Private Limited is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the single point of contact (POC) for clients, managing their accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GST and TDS regulations, delivering timely MIS reports, and leading a small team of junior accountants. The candidate must be self-motivated, possess strong communication skills, and be proficient in MS Excel.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Management: Act as the primary POC for clients, managing their accounting needs, addressing queries, and offering expert advice on financial matters.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and manage a small team of junior accountants, ensuring their tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Accounting & Bookkeeping: Oversee and maintain the accuracy of client financial records, including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • GST Compliance: Ensure timely filing of GST returns, handle GST reconciliations, and keep up with changes in GST regulations.
  • TDS Compliance: Manage TDS calculations, payments, and filing of returns in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • MIS Reporting: Prepare and present monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports and MIS reports for clients, providing insights on financial trends and variances.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide clients with insights into their financial performance, suggest cost-saving measures, and support key decision-making processes.
  • Taxation: Assist clients with Income Tax returns, advance tax calculations, and handle any tax-related matters.
  • Audit Coordination: Support clients during internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Communication: Maintain clear, professional communication with clients through phone calls, emails, and virtual meetings.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting and reporting operations.


Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. CA Inter will also work.

Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in accounting, GST, TDS, and financial reporting, with at least 1-2 years in a team management or supervisory role.
  • Experience in managing multiple clients in a service-oriented business environment is preferred.

Skills:

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve targets and meet deadlines.
  • Accounting Software: Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally and Zoho Books.
  • GST & TDS: In-depth knowledge of GST and TDS regulations and compliance.
  • MS Excel: Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in e-commernce or tech-based organisations.
