Description : We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator with 5+ years (Lead DBA) of expertise to manage, optimize, and secure our database systems. The ideal candidate will lead database architecture, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies while mentoring junior team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams. A passionate candidate should possess a robust understanding of database restores, and backups keeping constant pace with emerging technologies. Individuals are required to collaborate with development teams, and other administrators present in the organization to optimize the Microsoft SQL server database with an assurance of the performance of data infrastructure. SQL server database administrators stay in accordance with emerging technology enhancing database performance.Roles & Responsibilities : - Manage Azure/SQL Server databases- Provide SQL Server administration in MS SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019 and/or 2022 and Azure SQL Instance, Azure SQL Managed Instances.- Handling the Team members and provide technical guidance.- Prepare the SOPs for DB activities and RCA documents for any incidents.- Plan and implement database backup strategies and perform recovery in case of disaster- Performs database backup and recovery as required, including periodic testing- Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security- Analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes- Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours- Extensive knowledge in database design, implementation, and conversion- Experience with SSIS Packages and ADF.- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.- Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.- Optimize Microsoft for ETL, Data visualization, and Business Intelligence data analysis- Migrate existing SQL Server instances to Azure SQL or provision a new Azure SQL database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.- Backup and restore Azure SQL databases and Azure SQL Managed Instance.- Monitor and optimize the performance of your cloud database to meet your needs.- Automate common management tasks using PowerShell.- Proficiency in T-SQL, PowerShell, and database performance tuning.- Strong knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery.- Expertise in SQL Server versions, including advanced features like Extended Events, InMemory OLTP, Always Encrypted and Query Store.- Work closely with developers to optimize application performance.- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.- Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing strategies.- Analyse execution plans and resolve performance bottlenecks.- Design and implement database schemas, tables, and indexes.- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery through clustering, replication, and Always On.- Knowledge on Azure COSMOS DB.
