Job Title: Assistant Manager - Microbiology

Location: Vizag/Visakhapatnam (On-site)


Qualifications Required:

  • Education: M.Sc Microbiology
  • Experience: 7 to 10 Years


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising the activities of Microbiology laboratory operations.
  • Responsible for supervising the microbiology laboratory staff members from lab asst. to lab supervisor levels.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of required microbiological testing of incoming food and water samples to the lab from the sample registration desk
  • Coordinating with the sample registration desk and ensure proper selection of test methods for each of the requested test parameter
  • Assist the sample registration desk in contract review
  • Responsible for maintaining the turnaround time (TAT) of reports pertaining to Microbiology lab by ensuring timely release of approved results from the lab.
  • Effective delegation to assure job activities are met on a timely basis
  • Overseeing the training of department personnel and assuring the steps are taken to maintain positive personnel morale and development. Conducts performance evaluations.
  • Supervising of gowning and aseptic technique qualification of lab staff
  • Responsible for assuring the functioning and timely calibration of all Microbiology lab equipment
  • Reviewing of test results released by the microbiologists and ensuring its quality
  • Maintains current knowledge of FSSAI, EIC and other regulatory requirements
  • Ensures daily quality concerns, questions, supporting data are being adequately addressed by department personnel.
  • Responsible for maintenance of microbial cultures in viable condition.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality activities of food microbiology lab in accordance with ISO 17025 are done as per schedule.
  • Handling of client queries on test results and ensure the client satisfaction in case of complaints.
  • Coordinate with QA regularly and ensures the adherence of lab to laid down SOPs.
  • Supervises and performs other duties as directed by Lab manager.
