Fresnel Inc. is building zapMMIC, an AI-powered EDA tool that automates MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) design for GaN and GaAs technologies. Our platform leverages AI-driven automation workflows and multi-agent frameworks to revolutionize circuit and layout design. As a Founding Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling zapMMIC, with a focus on LLM-powered automation and problem-solving capabilities.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about AI engineering and automation tools. RF experience is not mandatory, but familiarity with Keysight ADS and AWR Microwave Office is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop LLM-based automation workflows for MMIC design and optimization.
Implement multi-agent frameworks (e.g., AutoGen, LangChain, Crew AI) to automate design processes efficiently.
Design and deploy containerized environments using Docker/Kubernetes and manage cloud-based workflows on AWS or similar platforms.
Build and maintain APIs and backend services for integrating with external EDA tools like Keysight ADS and AWR Microwave Office.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to develop scalable solutions that accelerate circuit design workflows.
Identify bottlenecks in automation workflows and devise innovative solutions for optimization.
Integrate feedback from users and partners to continuously enhance the zapMMIC platform.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in AI engineering, multi-agent frameworks, or software development.
Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with LLM-based solutions (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face).
Experience developing automation tools using multi-agent frameworks like LangChain, AutoGen, or Crew AI.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker/Kubernetes).
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with experience in delivering innovative, scalable solutions.
Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment and manage multiple responsibilities.
Familiarity with EDA tools such as Keysight ADS and AWR Microwave Office is a plus but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in startups or previous founding roles.
Knowledge of circuit and RF design automation, although not required.
Experience building and scaling LLM-driven products for engineering or optimization.
Passion for AI automation and the ability to work at the intersection of AI and hardware design.
