Job Description:

As a Senior Backend Software Development Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing backend systems using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js). Your expertise in cloud services, Redis caching, and CI/CD practices will be pivotal in ensuring our applications are scalable, secure, and efficient. You will mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement high-quality software solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services using the MERN stack.
  • Architect and implement robust RESTful APIs that support frontend functionalities.
  • Utilize AWS services for deploying and managing highly available and fault-tolerant applications.
  • Implement Redis caching strategies to enhance application performance and minimize latency.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define project requirements.
  • Apply advanced Data Structures and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles in software design.
  • Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system stability and security.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, integrating them into development processes.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience in backend development using the MERN stack.
  • Strong understanding of AWS services and their integration in backend architecture.
  • Extensive experience with Redis for caching and performance optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of Data Structures, Algorithms, and OOP principles.
  • Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Expertise in establishing CI/CD processes and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a track record of working with cross-functional teams.


Bonus Skills:

  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Experience in implementing microservices architecture and best practices.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in backend development.
