Responsibilities:

  • Teaching:
  • Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, artificial intelligence, or applied AI, reflecting current industry trends and best practices.
  • Mentor and advise students, fostering their academic and professional development.
  • Collaborate with faculty colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching methods and assessments.
  • Research:
  • Conduct applied research projects that address real-world challenges and contribute to the advancement of the field.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to identify and pursue research opportunities.
  • Supervise student research projects and assist with the publication of research findings.
  • Industry Partnerships:
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners to facilitate internships, co-op placements, and collaborative research projects.
  • Provide industry insights and expertise to inform curriculum development and program offerings.
  • Serve as a liaison between the university and industry, promoting the department's capabilities and fostering partnerships.
  • Service:
  • Contribute to departmental and university committees and service activities.
  • Participate in outreach and recruitment efforts to attract talented students and faculty.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for students, inspiring them to pursue careers in computer science and related fields.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
  • Significant industry experience in computer science, AI, or applied AI, with a proven track record of success in a relevant role.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Strong research and publication record, with a focus on applied research and industry collaborations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, faculty, and industry partners.
  • A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
