Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Content Writer/Sub Editor with a deep understanding of the local political landscape of Telangana, strong proficiency in both Telugu and English, and the ability to craft engaging and accurate content for various media platforms. This role demands creativity, strong research skills, and the ability to produce content that informs and engages the target audience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation:

- Write, edit, and proofread articles, news reports, opinion pieces, and features related to Telanganas local politics and current affairs.

- Ensure content is accurate, well-researched, and aligns with the organizations editorial guidelines.

2. Sub-Editing:

- Review and refine content from other writers, ensuring clarity, coherence, and adherence to publication standards.

- Fact-check information and maintain a high level of editorial accuracy.

3. Political & Social Coverage:

- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in Telanganas political scene, including elections, government policies, and local issues.

- Write in-depth analysis and commentary on key political events and trends.

4. Language Proficiency:

- Write and edit content fluently in Telugu and English, tailoring language and style to fit the medium (digital, print, or social media).

- Translate political news and articles between Telugu and English as required.

5. Content Optimization:

- Optimize articles for SEO and digital platforms to ensure high visibility and engagement.

- Work closely with the digital marketing team to drive traffic and readership for the publication.

6. Collaborate with Journalists & Editors:

- Collaborate with reporters, correspondents, and editors to ensure the timely delivery of news stories and features.

- Assist in brainstorming and developing editorial calendars based on upcoming political events and regional

developments.

7. Social Media & Digital Platforms:

- Engage with readers through social media by creating content that is relevant and shareable.

- Monitor trends on social media platforms related to Telangana politics and incorporate them into content strategies.

8. Ensure Editorial Integrity:

- Maintain the publications voice and uphold journalistic integrity by ensuring content is fair, unbiased, and truthful.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Experience: 3+ years of experience in content writing or sub-editing, preferably in the media or news industry.

- Knowledge of Telangana Politics: Strong understanding of the political and social landscape of Telangana, including

key figures, parties, and policies.

- Language Proficiency: Fluent in both Telugu and English, with the ability to write and edit content in both languages.

- Attention to Detail: Excellent proofreading and editing skills, with the ability to ensure factual accuracy and consistency.

- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with the target audience.

- Multitasking: Ability to work on multiple stories and tasks simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

- Digital Media Savvy: Familiarity with online media, SEO practices, and social media platforms is a plus.
