Job Title: Chief Technology Officer - 10BedICU Project (10BedICU.org)


Job Description:

The 10BedICU project is an initiative to transform critical care in India by deploying ICU wards at smaller government hospitals and deploying a cutting-edge open source healthcare platform CARE, that delivers critical care services. We are seeking an exceptional professional for the CTO role, who is at a stage where s/he is truly motivated to give back to society. An IITian, IVY league graduate, international professional experience or experience creating a healthcare system, could be a huge plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the CARE healthcare cloud platform for the 10BedICU project.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including government officials, healthcare providers, and technology experts, to define project requirements and ensure the platform meets the needs of users.
  • Manage a team of developers, designers, and other technology professionals to deliver the platform on time and within budget.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and strategies to improve the platform's functionality, scalability, and security.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in healthcare technology and provide guidance to the project team and stakeholders on best practices and trends in the field.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to healthcare and data privacy.
  • Design and develop new and innovative modules for the platform, including TeleICU, TeleRadiology, and Specialist Marketplace.
  • Work with the team to develop the TeleICU module which will enable remote monitoring and consultation of critical care patients by specialists.
  • Develop a TeleRadiology module which will enable remote interpretation of diagnostic images by radiologists.
  • Create a Specialist Marketplace module which will connect patients with the specialists they need, regardless of location, to improve access to care.
  • Promote and maintain the open source nature of the platform


Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience building enterprise software systems, preferably in the healthcare, EMR or HRMS systems.
  • Strong technical background in healthcare IT.
  • Experience in managing open source development teams and proficiency in the core tech stack of Django Backend and React with TypeScript on the frontend.
  • Experience leading and managing teams of technology professionals in an agile development environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work in an NGO setting with a passion for transforming critical care in India.
