PearlThoughts is excited to announce our two-phase DevOps Internship Program for Winter 2024-2025. This program offers a unique opportunity for motivated individuals to gain practical experience in a fast-paced, collaborative, and fully remote DevOps environment. Phase 1 is an unpaid learning experience, while Phase 2 offers a paid internship for select high-performing interns.

Location: Remote

Internship Duration: December 12, 2024 – January 12, 2025

Program Structure:

  • Phase 1 (Unpaid): This initial phase focuses on foundational training and practical application of core DevOps concepts. Interns will participate in online learning modules, hands-on exercises, and team projects. This phase serves as an evaluation period.
  • Phase 2 (Paid): Select interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and potential during Phase 1 will be offered a paid internship for the remainder of the program duration. Phase 2 involves working on more complex projects, contributing directly to PearlThoughts' ongoing initiatives.


Key Responsibilities (Both Phases):

  • Assist in the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of deployment, monitoring, and operational tools.
  • Contribute to the automation of operational processes and workflows.
  • Gain experience with infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Assist in monitoring system performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Support the troubleshooting and resolution of issues across different environments.
  • Contribute to the implementation of security best practices.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing activities and team meetings.


Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or recent graduation from such a program.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Rust, Go, or TypeScript.
  • Foundational knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation:

  • Phase 1: Unpaid
  • Phase 2: Paid (Specific compensation details will be provided to selected interns for Phase 2)
