Lead Python Developer will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing Python-based solutions. This individual will lead a team of developers, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of our applications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Python development, a solid grasp of modern software engineering practices, and proven leadership skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-performance, reusable, and reliable Python code
  • Work on both backend systems and APIs, ensuring smooth integration with other services
  • Implement unit and integration tests to ensure the robustness of the codebase
  • Manage deployment processes, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance
  • Lead a team of Python developers, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise
  • Oversee code quality and best practices to maintain high standards of development and testing
  • Review code and provide feedback to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable code
  • Work closely with Product Managers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into effective, user-centric solutions
  • Participate in planning, design, and estimation sessions, contributing to technical discussions and decisions
  • Coordinate with DevOps to enhance automation and deployment pipelines
  • Stay updated on industry trends, introducing new techniques and tools to the team
  • Identify opportunities to refactor and improve existing codebases for enhanced maintainability and performance
  • Encourage a culture of learning and knowledge-sharing within the team
  • Solid knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and coding best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.


Must have:

  • 5-7 years of experience in software development with Python, including 2+ years in a leadership or senior-level role
  • Proven experience with backend development and building RESTful APIs
  • Hands-on experience with frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Leadership qualities to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
