Role Overview

We are seeking a highly accomplished Marketing Head – Ad Sales & Public Relations to drive advertising revenues and enhance brand visibility for our growing news media channel. This senior leadership role requires an experienced professional with deep expertise in ad sales, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, media planning, and public relations strategy.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating revenue streams through advertising sales across multiple platforms (TV, Digital, OTT, and Print collaborations), building long-term relationships with clients and agencies, and positioning the channel as a trusted media partner for brands. Additionally, the role demands overseeing public relations, brand image management, and corporate communications to ensure a strong market presence nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

Ad Sales & Marketing Strategy

  • Develop and implement national ad sales strategies to achieve revenue targets across all markets (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata).
  • Build and manage key client and agency relationships to maximize advertising opportunities.
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, sponsorships, and branded content integrations.
  • Drive media sales campaigns by aligning with advertisers' brand objectives and leveraging multi-platform assets.
  • Negotiate high-value deals with advertisers, agencies, and corporate partners.
  • Lead a Pan-India sales team, providing guidance, training, and performance monitoring.

Public Relations & Corporate Communications

  • Design and execute public relations strategies to position the channel as a credible, impactful media brand.
  • Act as the spokesperson for the organization in media interactions, industry events, and forums.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media agencies, industry bodies, and stakeholders.
  • Handle crisis communication and ensure a consistent brand voice across all external communications.
  • Conceptualize press releases, interviews, and media kits to increase brand exposure.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage sales and PR teams across multiple cities.
  • Collaborate with content, editorial, and digital teams for integrated marketing and ad solutions.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure achievement of revenue and brand KPIs.

Market Research & Reporting

  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and advertising innovations to stay ahead.
  • Provide quarterly business performance reports and strategic recommendations to leadership.

Key Requirements

  • Education: MBA/PGDM in Marketing, Media Management, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 12+ years in Media/News/Advertising/PR industry, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record in ad sales, revenue generation, and client relationship management at a Pan-India level.
  • Strong expertise in public relations, corporate communications, and brand positioning.
  • Excellent network with advertisers, agencies, and media stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive, and dynamic media environment.
