Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and design data ingestion pipelines to support large-scale deployments (5G Core, Data Center, CPAR, CPNR) ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Develop and optimize Splunk apps, addons, and data models for custom use cases, including SNMP traps, syslog, and REST API-based ingestion.
  • Lead the design and implementation of custom Splunk apps that integrate external systems, handle complex data transformations, and ensure seamless ingestion and indexing.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines for fault and performance management, with real-time monitoring and alerting for critical infrastructure (Mobility, StarOS, CPS).
  • Architect scalable, efficient, and secure Splunk deployment models with focus on data forwarding, indexing, search head clustering, and summary indexing.
  • Integrate external data sources (logs, metrics, traps) into Splunk using Universal Forwarders, HTTP Event Collectors (HEC), Heavy Forwarders and syslog servers.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving Splunk performance issues related to data indexing, search performance, or system scaling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design Splunk integrations and apps that enhance operational visibility across different environments (Mobility, Data Center Compute, 5G Core).
  • Optional - Establish best practices for add-on development, ensuring modularity, reusability, and adherence to Splunkbase standards.
  • Optional -Ensure high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and scalability of Splunk infrastructure, with a focus on automation and monitoring.
  • Optional -Provide thought leadership in Splunk architecture, roadmap, and technology decisions for long-term sustainability and growth.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in Splunk Enterprise architecture with large-scale implementations and custom data ingestion solutions.
  • Expertise in designing and developing Splunk apps, addons, and custom scripts for data ingestion and processing.
  • Proficiency with Splunk Processing Language (SPL) for complex searches, query optimization, and reporting.
  • Experience building and managing data pipelines for ingesting data from SNMP, syslog, APIs, and file-based sources.
  • Strong understanding of Splunk architecture (ingestion, indexers, forwarders, search heads) and Splunk clustering models.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments, Python scripting, and automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
  • Experience with Splunk SDKs for Python or JavaScript for app/addon development.
  • Certifications – Optional : Splunk Certified Architect or Developer certifications are a plus.
