Zorba the Buddha is a not-for-profit spiritual centre that offers a serene retreat for personal growth, creative expression, and spiritual exploration. Nestled in New Delhi, our centre hosts workshops, meditation programs, art residencies, and community events, fostering a harmonious blend of spirituality and creativity.

We are seeking a spiritually inclined General Manager to lead our operations, manage our dedicated team, and uphold the vision of our community-oriented spiritual centre.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the centre’s mission and values.
  • Drive the growth and sustainability of the centre, ensuring its programs resonate with the spiritual community.
  • Oversee daily operations across all departments, including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, sales, and maintenance.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to maintain service excellence and compliance.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards.


Program Development and Execution:

  • Oversee the planning and execution of workshops, retreats, and events.
  • Collaborate with facilitators and the founder to curate a diverse and enriching program calendar.
  • Champion guest satisfaction by resolving complaints, implementing feedback, and enhancing service delivery.


Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
  • Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment that reflects the centre’s values.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Promote employee engagement and development opportunities.


Community Engagement:

  • Build and nurture relationships with community members, donors, and facilitators.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the centre, promoting its offerings and mission.


Financial Management:

  • Ensure financial sustainability through budget planning, fundraising initiatives, and donor relations.
  • Manage the centre’s financial resources responsibly and transparently.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Drive revenue growth through effective pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and upselling programs.
  • Monitor and control expenses, ensuring profitability without compromising service quality.


Facility Management:

  • Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of the centre’s premises, ensuring it remains a welcoming and peaceful environment.
  • Oversee daily operations across all departments, including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, sales, and maintenance.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to maintain service excellence and compliance.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, partners, and local businesses to enhance operations.


Spiritual Alignment:

  • Integrate spiritual practices into the centre’s operations and culture.
  • Lead by example, embodying the values of mindfulness, compassion, and self-awareness.


Sales & Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with founder and trustees to define short- and long-term goals.
  • Oversee sales and marketing efforts for retreats and various programs to drive occupancy and revenue ensuring sustainability of the centre.


Qualifications


Experience:

  • 3+ years in a leadership role, preferably in the non-profit, hospitality, wellness, or spiritual sectors.
  • Proven track record in team management, program development, and financial oversight.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Social Work, Psychology, Hospitality or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.


Skills:

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with spiritual and wellness practices such as meditation, yoga, or mindfulness is essential.
