Job Title: Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE 4)


About the Role:

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE 4) with expertise in Java, PostGreSQL, and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP to join our dynamic engineering team. As an SDE 4, you will lead the design, development, and scaling of complex event-driven systems. This role is critical for driving key projects and mentoring fellow engineers to push the boundaries of innovation and scalability.


Responsibilities:

  • Architect and build highly scalable, robust, and secure systems with a focus on event-driven architecture.
  • Design and implement event streaming and distributed systems that handle large volumes of data with low latency.
  • Lead the development of microservices in Java, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and lead the technical direction for the team.
  • Optimize and scale PostgreSQL databases for performance, security, and availability.
  • Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments, specifically in AWS or GCP.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, code quality, and automation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues across distributed systems.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of software development experience with a focus on event-driven architecture and microservices.
  • Expertise in Java and hands-on experience with building scalable backend systems.
  • Deep understanding of PostgreSQL with experience in optimizing databases for performance and scalability.
  • Strong experience with AWS or GCP, including services like Lambda, API Gateway, S3, EC2, and RDS.
  • Proven track record in building and scaling complex event-driven systems using tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SNS/SQS.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and multi-threading.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and experience with cloud security principles.
  • Experience with performance tuning, logging, and monitoring systems.
  • Ability to lead architectural discussions and evaluate complex trade-offs in system design.
