EMIDS - Product Owner - Revenue Cycle Management

Product Owner (With RCM We are looking for an experienced Product Owner with specialized expertise in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) to serve as a strategic counterpart to our client's internal product team.
- This role is based within our Healthcare IT Consulting division, where you will act as a bridge between our client's business needs and their technology teams, driving the delivery of RCM products that meet regulatory and market demands.
- As a Product Owner in a consulting capacity, your focus will be on supporting the client's product vision and providing subject matter expertise on RCM best practices.
- While the primary decision-making authority will reside with the client, you will collaborate closely with their internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the overall project objectives, timelines, and business goals.
- With at least 4 years of experience in developing and implementing RCM products, you will guide and influence the process, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement & Collaboration:
a. Serve as the primary liaison between the client's internal teams (business, IT, and stakeholders) and our development team, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
b. Understand the client's product vision and work closely with them to refine the product roadmap, ensuring it aligns with their business objectives.
c. Facilitate stakeholder meetings, ensuring client needs are clearly captured, prioritized, and executed effectively.
Product Development & Support:
a. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in RCM processes and healthcare technology, guiding the client's decision-making with industry best practices.
b. Write detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
c. Provide input into product design, and technical requirements to ensure they align with RCM standards and healthcare regulations.
d. Work alongside the client's Product Owner and business stakeholders to ensure the product backlog is prioritized appropriately, facilitating backlog refinement sessions as needed.
e. Work closely with the development team to ensure timely delivery of product features, removing blockers and ensuring the product meets high-quality standards.
Decision Support & Advisory:
a. Offer strategic advice on product decisions but understand that ultimate decision-making will remain with the client.
b. Provide recommendations on regulatory compliance, market trends, and competitive analysis, supporting the client in making data-driven product decisions.
Client Success & Product Delivery:
a. Collaborate with the client's teams and our development teams to track project progress, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure that product deliverables are met on time and within scope.
b. Assist in gathering and interpreting customer feedback, ensuring that product iterations meet end-user needs and the client's business objectives.
- Market Research & Regulatory Insight:
a. Keep the client informed of the latest trends and changes in healthcare RCM, offering insights into how these can be integrated into the product roadmap.
b. Support the client in navigating healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and other relevant standards that impact product development.
User Experience & Customer Focus:
a. Collaborate with UX/UI teams to ensure the product delivers a seamless and intuitive user experience.
b. Champion the voice of the customer and integrate customer feedback into the product development process.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager with a focus on Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) products in the healthcare industry.
- Proven ability to act as a Product Owner in a consulting role, with strong client-facing skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
- In-depth knowledge of RCM processes including claims, coding, billing, reimbursements, and collections.
- Hands-on experience working with Agile/Scrum teams, ideally in a healthcare or consulting environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between technical teams and client stakeholders.
- Ability to operate in client-facing engagements, managing expectations and fostering strong relationships while helping clients make informed product decisions.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and RCM regulations such as HIPAA, CMS, etc.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working within a consulting or client services environment, where product development is executed in partnership with the client.
- Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems and other healthcare technologies that integrate with RCM solutions.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of product management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision making for product enhancements.
