Job Description:

We are currently seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant with significant experience in the real estate industry to join our dynamic team. If you have a strong background in accounting, taxation, and statutory compliance, along with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, we want to hear from you


Roles and Responsibilities

As a Chartered Accountant at Ankura, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with taxation laws, and supporting senior management in driving business excellence initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Accounts & Audits: Maintain accurate books of accounts, reconcile bank and petty cash balances, prepare financial statements, and handle project purchase bookings.
  • Budgeting and Profitability Analysis: Assist in budgeting processes and conduct profitability analysis to support decision-making.
  • Co-ordination and Reporting: Co-ordinate with branches, project sites, and compile data for various reports and statements, including those required by banks.
  • Taxation and Statutory Compliance: Prepare documents for statutory, internal, and tax audits, finalize accounts, and liaise with auditors. Calculate and file periodic TDS returns, GST returns, and other tax filings.
  • Team Collaboration: Support senior management in implementing business excellence programs and projects. Work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Financial Transaction Management: Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries, document financial transactions, recommend financial actions. Summarize current financial status and prepare reports and substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Accounting Controls and Policies: Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. Guide accounting clerical staff, reconcile financial discrepancies and secure financial information through database backups.
  • Transaction Verification and Reporting: Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions. Produce error-free accounting reports and analyze financial information and summarize financial status. Provide technical support and advice on management. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Financial Standards and Forecasting: Participate in financial standards setting and the forecast process. Provide input into the department's goal-setting process and prepare financial statements and budgets according to schedule.
  • Audit and Compliance: Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance. Plan, assign, and review staff work and support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Business Process Improvement: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
  • Client Communication and Relationship Management: Communicate effectively with clients. Contribute to strong client relationships through positive interactions and communicate with Manager and/or Director on work status and client issues.


Qualifications:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting and taxation, specifically within the real estate sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, taxation laws, and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and computer literacy.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and techniques, and willingness to adapt to changing requirements.
