Senior SQL Developer

Job Title : Senior SQL DeveloperLocation : Bangalore (Work from Office)Employment Type : Full-timeAbout the Role :We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior SQL Developer to join our team in Bangalore. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL Server database solutions in enterprise environments. This role requires deep expertise in T-SQL, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure database systems.Key Responsibilities :Database Design & Development :- Design, implement, and maintain OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) and OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) solutions using Microsoft SQL Server.- Architect, develop, and manage efficient data models and database schemas to support business applications and analytics.- Create and maintain complex stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and indexes to meet business logic and performance needs.ETL & Integration :- Develop, deploy, and maintain SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages for data integration, migration, and transformation.- Ensure seamless integration with enterprise applications and external data sources.Performance Optimization :- Proactively monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, partitioning, and statistics management.- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, analyze execution plans, and implement corrective actions.- Ensure high availability and scalability of SQL databases to meet business SLAs.Governance & Best Practices :- Lead schema design reviews and enforce database development standards, security policies, and best practices.- Maintain version control and automate database deployments using Visual Studio Database Projects (SSDT).- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards related to data security and privacy.Problem Solving & Support :- Conduct root-cause analysis for critical database-related issues and deliver preventive solutions.- Provide database support for application development teams, BI teams, and business users.- Participate in incident management and provide 24x7 support for mission-critical systems when required.Collaboration & Leadership :- Work closely with architects, application developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable database solutions.- Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.- Provide technical leadership in database design, optimization, and data-driven solutioning.Required Technical Skills :1. Expert-level T-SQL programming with strong knowledge of :- Joins, temp tables, subqueries, and common table expressions (CTEs).- Execution plans, locking, blocking, deadlocks, and concurrency control.- Transactions, isolation levels, error handling, and data integrity constraints.Database Optimization & Performance Tuning :- Skilled in query tuning, indexing strategies, and database partitioning.- Experience analyzing query execution plans and optimizing workloads.SQL Server Ecosystem :- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2017/2019 and Azure SQL.- Proficiency in database project management using SSDT (SQL Server Data Tools).- Strong knowledge of ETL pipelines with SSIS and familiarity with data warehousing concepts.Other Skills :- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver solutions in fast-paced enterprise environments.Experience & Qualifications :- 5+ years of hands-on experience working as a SQL Developer in large-scale enterprise environments.- Proven track record in designing, developing, and optimizing complex SQL Server databases.- Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments is preferred.- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.Good to Have :- Exposure to Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Managed Instance).- Knowledge of SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) or other BI tools.- Familiarity with CI/CD for databases and version control systems like Git.- Experience with cloud-native architectures and hybrid data systems.Why Join Us ?- Work on mission-critical, large-scale enterprise systems.- Opportunity to own end-to-end database design and performance optimization.- Collaborative culture with opportunities to mentor, lead, and innovate.- Exposure to the latest Microsoft SQL Server versions and Azure ecosystem.- Competitive salary and benefits package.
