Job Title: Factory Manager – Modular Interior Manufacturing

Department: Production / Operations

Reports To: Operations Manager


Job Summary:

This is a full-time job with Design Studio 91. The Factory Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the production of modular interior products, ensuring that manufacturing processes meet quality standards, timelines, and safety regulations. The role involves supervising the daily activities of the factory workforce, coordinating with various departments, managing production schedules, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective operation of the factory.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage daily production activities in the modular interior factory, ensuring adherence to the production schedule.
  • Oversee the assembly, fabrication, and finishing of modular interior components, such as furniture, partitions, panels, and storage units.
  • Ensure that production goals and targets are met efficiently and with minimal disruption.
  • Monitor the progress of manufacturing processes and address any production delays or issues promptly.
  • Ensure that all modular interior products are manufactured according to the specified design, quality standards, and client requirements.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on products to verify that they meet industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement corrective actions for any non-conformities or defects in the production process.
  • Ensure all factory processes comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to improve worker skills and productivity.
  • Coordinate with the procurement and inventory teams to ensure that raw materials and components are available for production.
  • Monitor material usage and ensure that production is not hindered due to shortages or excessive waste.
  • Maintain accurate records of material consumption, stock levels, and supply orders.
  • Collaborate with the production manager to plan, schedule, and allocate resources for the production of modular interior products.
  • Ensure that production schedules align with client delivery timelines and project requirements.
  • Monitor and adjust production plans as necessary to handle any delays, urgent orders, or changes in design.
  • Ensure the factory environment is safe and compliant with workplace safety regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Provide input and feedback to the product development team regarding design, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or production, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role, ideally in the modular furniture or interior design manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of modular interior products, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, quality control methods, and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of production management software and tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Good understanding of inventory and materials management.
